MXFX15 no receive but does on another mfp with that phone line

I brought the machine back to the shop and used it for 3 days. Never malfunctioned. Dozens of sends and receives. I bring it back to customer and 1st 2 incoming I get an NG0000000 any ideas? YES i did swap out the fax module

We had one do that. It had a 4 line fax cord connected to it. I put a two line cord on and it worked. Sharp recomends a 2 line cord. We have many out there not on a two line cord and have no probs. In the one case it did.

This was the 1st thing i checked.

UPDATE the loaner never malfunctioned until we went back with the customers machine. It then also couldn't receive. so 2 FX15's plus a loaner wouldn't work in their office. I believe that the issue is in their network or modem. OBTW before we left they received a few faxes with their machine..LOL crazy

In situations like this we always advise the customer to have their phone provider to have a physical person come out to monitor and check the lines for noise or any other issues. At first they would use a person over the phone to run a test and all was good, so the machine was blamed. So, we swapped lines, tried slowing down the baud rates, etc, they still blamed the machine. We brought in a Brother table top for faxes, still had issues. Then, we brought another table top, still had issues. Finally, they set a technician to inspect the lines, they had some major issues that needed addressing. So, all along it was not the machine, we billed the client for our time....wholly shit were they pissed!

Set all your baud rates to 9600, turn off ECM, change the coding from JBIG to MMR and make sure you have a 2-line phone cord.
Issues are most likely caused by packet loss and jitter on the "phone line", highly doubt it's a POST line.
