    MX-5071 no wireless option

I have a MX-5071 that we sold as an off-lease unit that does not show or ask under the network setup if the connection is wired only/wireless/wired hotspot. I have installed firmware, performed factory network card reset, factory machine reset and cloned a MX-5071 in the same customer office with no success getting a wireless setup option. There is the 802.11 authentication option which is turned off. I turned it on and customer IT put in a valid password but it failed as the copier is not connected through the wireless. SIM 22-6 printout shows fax soft switches changed but we took the fax option off before delivery and they did not change with the factory reset which surprised me. I am hoping to not have to put a MFP board in this. Does anyone have any other thoughts?

Is the wireless adapter physically behind the front panel?

Is it the MX-5071S version that was released during the pandemic? Those did not have wifi adapter, you had to order it as an add on. If you go into the machine webpage it will tell you MX-5071S but besides that it looks the same.
