    BP-50C31 Weird Problem

This machine has a fax and is set up to scan to email. Operator stated all was well with it at first and now it did this weird thing. When she clicked the email icon it went to the fax screen and asked for a number. I never thought I'd come across something like that. She turned the machine off and it would let her email but now on top it says "Telephone Mode". Is there something that a person could have turned on? It has the latest firmware 3.03. Thanks in advance Ron

There is a issue with your customers fax line. If they unplug it from the machine they will be able to scan to email. Have customer contact their phone/fax provider to get the line fixed

We had this problem once or twice. If I remember correctly it is indeed a problem with the fax line. Not an analog line but a digital one.

My Sharp Rep told me to change Soft Switch 114 Bit 8 from 1 to 0. Does anyone out there know what that does? I'm gonna try it but would like to know. Thanks Ron

Soft Switch 114 Bit 8 from 1 to 0 will work.

There is a low voltage detected on the incoming phone line, which indicates to the machine that the line is "off-hook"

Soft Switch 114 Bit 8 from 1 to 0 tells the machine to ignore the low voltage online.
