    Sound coming from BP-70C36, video attached

    Hi, we have a sound coming from a bp-70c36. It is supposed to be delivered this week but we think customer will be annoyed with the sound. It seems to be coming from the laser unit and I would think it is either a fan or motor since you can hear it slow down after a while.

    It happens as soon as you go to the copy screen but you do not even need to be making copies/prints for it to sound. We did simulation 6-2 to test the fans but it did not sound with any of the fans here.

    Anyone have any advice?

    This sound is really familiar but I did not hear it for a long time.
    I guess it's the LSU but I'm not sure, I'm gonna try to check tomorrow if I can reproduce it on a CR4 or CR5.

      Sounds like polygon motor in laser unit.
      Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential

        Thats just the polygon motor which always makes a lot of noise...certainly with the covers removed.

          I've set up so many of these BPs in the last few months, this sounds normal to me. I don't suppose you have a second BP to compare it with? If it is a problem, you could just claim warranty with sharp for a new laser to be sent. I believe SIM 61 to access the LSU settings.

            The LSU is really discreet since the CR4 serie.
            If the noise is too much you can play around the sleep timer and the eco scan setting.

              Testing the LSU with sim 61-1 did make the noise so it is the LSU like everyone said. I do not have another BP to compare but I compared it to a 3070 and 3071 and there is a significant difference. We played with the eco settings but could not make it any better. We will ask sharp to send us an LSU. Thanks everyone!

                Years ago, can't remember if it was on the 2640 or 2600, there was a bulletin that had a software switch you could change so the polygon shut off really fast so those fussy offices didn't have to hear the high pitch. It did increase warm up time.

                If you can find it it might still apply to the BP to test.

                In my opinion that sound is normal.

                  [QUOTE=Lawrence;2589229]幾年前,不記得是在 2640 還是 2600 上,有一個公告,其中有一個可以更改的軟體開關,因此多邊形關閉得非常快,因此那些挑剔的辦公室沒有聽到高 音。它確實增加了預熱時間。

                  如果你能找到它,它可能仍然適用於 BP 進行測試。

                  我認為聲音是正常的。
