    Sharp AR-M207

    Hi:

I am looking at Sharp AR-M207 to replace our xerox copier and HP5100DTN in our Engineering office. Our copy needs have dropped significantly since we moved to a electronic drawing system and we no longer have to make duplicates for drawings. So we are looking for a solution in the $1000-$6000 range that can met our 100pages/day needs and allow us to scan and make the odd copy. Our xerox sites turned off most days.

    Forgot to note
    Requirements are:
    2 tray
    letter and 11x17
    duplexing
    Scanning/copy
    Network wired.
Color is an option but if it puts it out of our price range it can be sacrficed.

The scanning on this one is kind of micky mouse and it's only 20 ppm so your printing is probably going to be slower.

ARM257 (25ppm) or ARM317 (31ppm) can be a nice cheap to run printer with a pretty beefy document feeder and fast (no color) scanning but it's going to be at the high end of your budget.

If you wait till this fall Sharp has a 28 ppm comming out with color scanning and a 8.5" color touch display with a built in keyboard that is looking to be a really solid machine and it should fit the budget
Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

I agree with Lawrence, though the 257 is a ok model, the new line up will work better for what you want it to do.
