ARM 160 Network install

Hi Guys, I am installing an ARM160 as a network printer. I have installed the ARNB2 onto the copier and ran the Software CD up as far as NIC Manager. The NB2 cannot be seen by the application. I have link lights on the NB2 and at the server. Any ideas? Do i need the EB7 as well? Is it possible to change the IP address on the copier/printer via the copier op panel?

The NB2N comes defaulted as DHCP and you cannot set IP address from the copier at this time. After powering on with cat5 cable, run a config page from the push button switch on the NB2N. That will give you an IP address that you should then be able to access the web page. Yes, the EB7 is required.

Thanks for that Zootech. I printed a config page when i was at the machine yesterday but it came out as 0.0.0.0. This was without the EB7 installed. I am going there this morning with the EB7. Should the config page page give an actual IP address with this installed? I have been onto Sharp and they say the EB7 is not required, that i should be able to get it printing using the "Network Expansion Kit AR-NB2 Network Utilities CD-ROM". I will try this as well when I am there. I didn't try this previously because the information i downloaded told me to use the "Network Expansion Kit AR-NB2 Software CD-ROM", and on this i would find the Admin Tools section which included the "NIC Manager" application. Agian, thanks for your help. I now have a few things to try out.

Hi Zootech, the printing is fine since the EB7 went in. Although i am getting the dreaded CE-02 when scanning to Sharpdesk. Firewall is off, settings all appear correct. Any ideas?

Glad to hear printing is okay; you may want to delete the scanner, then re-acquire the scanner with the auto detect to correct the CE-02.

For the decision of a problem with CE-02 to you it is necessary to take advantage of utility Network Scanner Tool, behind that to configure the device through WEB the interface and to adjust the manager of buttons of the scanner.

ARM 160

Hi All, still having problems with scanning to sharpdesk. Works fine scanning to laptop vis crossover. Laptop has XP running. Client site is running Vista. I am using version 3.2.1 of Sharpdesk - the latest version i believe. I am still getting CE-02. When i try to open Network Scanner Utility I get an error saying "FTP port is in use". I had one of the guys look at this yesterday and he said it threw up application errors. Has anyone had similar issues?

You might try a different port setting in the system options of the NST. Ports 5133 and 4687 have been good for me; most likely the port that was defaulted is currently in use by another application.
