      Hi Hank,

I believe it is the AL-100DR yes but it is not a new drum. It is the old drum which i have remanufactured. I have read somewhere the drum which is in the machine is a starter drum when compared to a new Sharp drum. The difference is the new Sharp drums have an added piece of moulding which triggers a "New Drum" switch in the machine when inserted.

      Is this true??

It is a widely used cartridge and while I do not know the 1552 machine let me see if I can help by providing options issued by Summit. One is mechanical ,the other is via panel.
        1. If the cartridge is not a "starter Cartridge" there should be two white gears inside the green end cap. On the large white gear, remove the clip ring and turn the gear back to the start position (this is so the actuator, or flag, is next to the small gear). On some cartridges the "Flag Gear" is now black. It is located to the bottom right of the white gear. Make sure that when you snap the green end cap back on, the notch on the small gear lines up with the tab on the large single gear that is on the cartridge. Once everything lines up, snap the end cap in place. This is tricky, so take your time.
        2. If your cartridge is a "Starter" , there will be no gears to reposition, you can go thru the menu the following way:

Enter the Diagnostics menu by turning the machine On and, within 4 seconds, press "Clear" , "Exposure Mode", " Clear", "Exposure Mode", in that secuence. All the display should go blank . Using the 10 and 1 buttons (copy quantity), enter "24", press "Print" ,then enter "7", press "Print" again. The counter is now set to zero.

Advise how you fare with this. Complicate but worthy.

        Good luck.
