    Sharp ARM-450 printing problems

I have a Sharp ARM-450 and my customer is printing PDF files and the first couple pages prints out correctly but the files that were scanned are garbled on the sheet such as random letters and numbes. The PCL 6 driver is loaded on her copier, my question is does she need the Postscript Driver/Kit in order to print the scanned documents or are there any other options that we can use.

    Please respond ASAP

    Try OCR. It's built-in in Sharpdesk3.2 .

      Try the PCL5e driver.

Is there a soft switch setting to activate Post Script in the machine.

Also, the documents are being emailed to her and printed on the copier.

You cant activate PS via a soft switch. You need to purchase the PS kit and register it to gain your Product Key.

You also dont necessarily need PS on the machine or use the PS drivers to correctly print PDF's.

First thing is to always use the latest version of your driver. Try PCL6 or PCL5.
If you are using Acrobat Reader 8 or above, you sometimes need to print the document with 'Print as Image' option ticked in the Advanced tab of print dialog box. This will rip the document as a whole image. Trust me, works a treat!

How does the image look on the computer monitor? If it looks OK there, but becomes scrambled and garbled during the print, do the above.
