Sharp 6201N New Toner Shows Empty

Hi Guys,

New yellow toner with probably less than 100 pages on it is now showing empty after clearing an F2-67 error with SIM14. Tried pulling out the toner and replacing to no avail.

Any ideas? I gotta run 1000 copies tonight!

Sorry, once the crum chip has been shorted, you can't reset it...you'll need a new bottle.

I'd say that you have a blocked toner pipe (down-pipe from the toner to the dev tank). The machine will 'say' that the toner is empty, because the dev is not detecting new toner supply, even though the crum chip has reset to 100%. The toner supply will change from 100% to 0% when the machine is not supplied with toner (after 3 minutes of trying, from memory).

Did you actually check the toner and see if it was really empty?? Totally impossible for it to be empty after 100 pages .

If the toner pipe is blocked, you can install new toners and you will get the same trouble code (F2-67 is yellow toner supply error).

You need to remove the yellow toner pipe and clear it out & check the yellow dev tank. If you do a dev stir 25-01, you will see that the yellow value would be quite high compared to CMK values, as it has low toner density in it.

Once you get that toner pipe cleared, the machine will start feeding yellow toner and automatically adjust itself. You will probably need to do a full color cal when it's up and ready, just to be sure.

Sure, the crum chip has been set to 0% toner remaining, because of the toner supply error. This is not just as simple as replacing the toner with a new crum chip. There is a reason & a cause for this problem. I have given those in my post above. Simply checking the crum chip/toner cartridge will get you no-where on this particular problem.
