Customer has unit that is displaying an L-6 (10) code.

Which if i'm correct is a polygon lock?

Would this be a laserscanner failure? is their a reset I can try for this?

I attempted to look up the codes in my service manual only to find that half my service manual sections say "refer to M-160"

    Lol not very helpful.

Not much you can do for the L6-10 ... just replace the PolyMotor or the whole LSU... depending on who's paying..

Is the machine a AR or a ARM?

If it's the old Panther series with grey covers make sure you check for bulletins about a new style laser. It's about 100 bucks cheaper. If you use the old part number they still have stock and it does not sub to the cheaper part!

When your removing the laser save your self the grief and don't put the 2 rear frame screws back in. Saves a ton of time if you need to remove the laser to clean it. To cheat and get those 2 screws out, remove all the screws that hold the metal frame the boards are attached to and gently bend it towards you and if you have a really long screw driver you can just reach the 2 screws. Otherwise you have to remove the wiring harness and the boards.
