    Sharp mx3100n drum life

First post love what I've found so far. After reading a few post I think we all realize you can get much more out of Sharp parts then they suggests. Once before i was able to max out the drum counters and dv counters through simulations. But now i cant remenber what sim it was. By maxing it out u get the most out of the machine. ANyone know what sim i can use to max out the drum and dv life.

    thanks

    maint counter

21, but your customer pays to have those parts replaced as manuf. specs, not the most ethical thing to do in my opinion but thats just me, plus the sims are all listed when in sim mode, look a little closer.

just reset the counters as they come up...... just know that if u push pm's that once the opc is peeling on the ends of the drums change em... they will be a problem once that happens plus the extra drag on the cleaning blade from the bare aluminum is not good for the drum unit. ... Pushing pms if you dont have to sux.... everytime i go to another tech who has pushed a pm means i have to do a pm..... cause when i go its alway copy quality ... if you do your pm's you rarely get copy quality calls....... and when you do you know whats needed cause you did you pm'... ALSO think of it this way if the machine made its PM life.... you already made the money that you were sposed to on the supplies... so they owe you nothing in return.

I understand all this and thank you all. I may have gotten cunfused with another sharp color machine. But i remenber once b4 i got the bk vk and ck codes. And while trying to reset them i found a sim that allowed me to set the the counters to max. But i have yet to find it again.

                Touch COPY in the screen and enter P - * - CA - P

Just be careful what you do in there. I would highly recommend you print a 22-6 before screwing around in extended test commands. If you did do something bad at least you have all the machines settings Had a miscommunication once with a guy at Sharp over the phone. Lets just say i spent 20 minutes going through all the test commands entering values.

I just ran through sim 80 to 90 and i didn't see any thing that allows you change the default of the counters. Sim 21 lets you lower them or put them at the max for factory specs.

You can roll counters back in extended test commands but if your doing that you managewell just reset them unless your trying to squeak a extra 25k or something out of the supplies. Ive done that before when i don't have time to do a PM and the machine is like 1k copies from a PM. Roll it back 10k on the Maintainence counter so i have a extra week before they call about it.

yep had one on a mx-4501, and its the transfer belt separation clutch, the clip eats up the shaft eventually binding it.
