    AR-M350 Cutting off

I have a customer with an AR that doesn't always print (from a computer) the entire page. I don't think it's a corrupted file because the same file will cut off different parts of the page, if I try it several times. The registration is fine (never have a problem when in copy mode). I've tried different drivers with no luck. I've also tried all of the various printer set-up options.

Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

What kind of file is it?

I would try printing a windows test page, if that shows up properly it's not likely a problem with the copier. I would also want to try a differnt file of the same type. If that works chances are pretty good it's the file you have that is the problem.

You could also try updating to the latest drivers from the website and if you really wanted to go further hit the machine with the latest firmware.

Thanks Lawrence. The test page only has the very top printing. It ended at "You have successfulling downloaded the driver." Alright, I'm going to show my ineptitude now...How do I download the firmware? Thanks

        Are you a tech?

Also try updating the print driver first.

        Sharp.ca Downloads

        Go to copier - ARM450 -

the 2nd file should work for you. It does not have a wizard so you will have to go to the properties of the installed print driver, Advanced tab and click new driver. Point to the folder you downloaded off the sharp site and install the new driver version.

        ARM350_450_2K2K3XP_32_PCL6_EN_610.exe (assuming your using XP)

Yes, I am a tech (of 30 years). I've just been dragged into the digital world kicking and screaming. ;o)

Thanks for the web link. Apparently, Sharpusa.com is no longer providing the older drivers. I'll give it a wirl.

          Much appreciated!

            Hey Lawrence,

Well, I tried downloading the driver from the Canadian site with no luck. I have at least a dozen of these machines out there and never experienced a problem like this.

I also tried printing one of the files I'm having troubles with on two other laser printers and they printed just fine.

I really appreciate your help, but if you can think of anything else I might try (before I have to buy a parts machine and start swapping boards), I'd be greatful. Thanks

Maybe try replacing the memory. As only print jobs are becoming corrupt, the memory used in processing the print job is faulty.
Seen similar problems before and it was the memory.
If you have the NIC installed and are using it, try printing via the Parallel port as well. Maybe you have a faulty ARNC5J NIC. Also reseat the printer board as a precaution.

That, what wazza suggested, or change out the Print Controller itself - if possible. Firmware could be corrupted. You could also change out firmware, put I am reluctant to do that.
