I am experiencing erratic E7-20 codes. Of coarse it never happens when I'm there and it resets and may not return for two or more days. I have checked the LSU connections and performed SIM 61-1 and it all checks out ok. Now living here in Maine we do have some real power issues and of coarse there is no power suppressin or protection whatsoever.

Intermittant E7-20 can be caused when using different paper (eg heavy or Transparency) from either Bypass or trays 3 and 4.

There is a firmware upgrade for the PCU to eliminate this.

The PCU firmware should be: 01a10.D0 for the C-Dragons. There is also a PCU update for the Venus machines (MX6201 & 7001). The PCU firmware should be: 01a07.V0.

Update the main engine firmware first, then apply the PCU special edition firmware for the E7-20 codes if you dont have the very latest firmware yet (the new PCU version is available separately or included in the latest version).

I have done this to all of my C-Dragons and Venus machines. Have not had any come back with E7-20 since. Only ever happened occasionally to clients using heavy paper1 from the bypass tray I found. However, the bulletin states it can happen from other trays and using other papers as well.

I can send you the files if you have no access to them.

If still getting the error after new firmware, replace the LSU.

        Wazza,
I do recall that tray 3 and 4 are defaulted to heavy paper. Thanks for that tidbit of info.I set them to default to heavy paper because the end users aren't the brightest bulbs in the package.
