    Help! Sharp AR-205 Network Printing

    Hi All,

I have a Sharp AR-205 with the AR-PS1 kit which includes an AR-NC3D NIC Card.

The card shows a green light.

    I have 2 Questions.

    1. Can this be set to DHCP?

    2. If not can you print directly to it using a cross over cable or is some kind of print server required in addition to the NIC?

    Thanks!

        Progress

Ok I did get it to ping and then print over IP

the problem now is that everything I print is coming out of the ledger tray and is landscape.

        is that a common problem?

Also, what is the password for the web page for the nic card?

The login and password is either admn, admin or admin, admin. If you have this connected to a router you can use a regular ethernet cable but if you are trying to print from a laptop directly to the card you need a crossover cable.

            Good luck.

None of the passwords seemed to work.

I am still getting reverse orientation when printing with the pcl driver and pages of garbage if i use the post script driver

                Try these:

The default administrator passwords for the network cards are as follow:

                AR-NC1D sysadm
AR-NC3D sysadm (This is the AR205 card)
                AR-NC4T password
                AR-NC5J Sharp
I'm not sure about the reverse orientation but you can always try a "hard reset" of the NIC card and see if that helps.

Remove the ARNC3D and move jumper OP2 on the AR-NC3D (also marked on nic board as FACT ), from pin 2-3 (Normal) to pin 1-2 (reset). Re-install the card and power up the Imager. The board will reset all parameters to Factory Default. This will be indicated by 3 quick green flashes of the LEDs, followed by the alternating orange and green indicators. This indicates that the unit has been reset to Factory Defaults. Turn off the power, remove NIC and restore jumper.

                Good luck.
