    Sharp AL-2080 and the AL-200TDU or FO55ND

Had a customer call me about refilling a toner/dev cartridge for their AL-2080. Went by and picked it up and it looks a LOT like the typical AL1000 series TD cartridge which I have done for them and I have in stock. Anyone know if the AL1000 series toner will work in this cartridge? The spec cartridge for the AL2080 says it should be a AL-200TDU but the customer bought and used a FO55ND cartridge so I am guessing they are the same. The big question for me is can I use the AL1000 series refill toner or can someone tell me where I can get the refill toner for the AL-200TDU / FO55ND cartridge.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi Solotime... Soory I am only seeing your post almost 2 years later and I am sure you have your answer by now. I was looking for service manual on this and during search this post came up. The FO-55nd works in the FO-2080 which is the fax version of the Al-2080. The cartridge is different in that it has a chip on back ,unlike most other al series machine that have none.
There is also the possibility that when you refill the cartridge without changing the chip the toner icon may come up anyway long before the toner is used up. Some manufacturers are doing this now to dicouage recycling of cartridges. I don't know how they get away with it legally as if it reaches a chip count and disables the machine with toner still in cartridge one would thing you paid for that toner and should be able to use it all up. Someone will file a lwasuit one day and we will see.Frank/ActionPhotocopy
