    Sharp MX4101N

    Hey Guys,

I installed 2 x Sharp MX4101N machines today and both of them have a curious issue. When I try to select different paper types ie. colour, recycled, they are not showed as available options. I'm logged in as administrator on the the machine only plain paper and heavy paper 1 are available options? I tried different paper sizes, but no change. I was able to change the paper type through the web admin page, but it seems to demonstrate the same glitch. I had to click on heavy paper 1 and then all the sudden all the options were listed? (which did not work on the machine). This seems like a firmware problem... Has anyone else seen this problem? Thanks in advance!

Have not seen that problem, and yes, firmware (4.00J2) update might take of it.

      Adjust sim 55-03, switch 4, bit 5.

You must have the 'paper type selection simplification' option activated. When this is activated, only plain & heavy papers show in the list.

Once this is changed, all paper types will reappear.

Oh, and do the firmware (of course).

There is a PCU special edition for H4-04 prevention as well. Once engine firmware is upgraded, install the PCU special edition afterwards. Its the same version, but you will see a small 'c' in the version number once completed in 22-05.

Thanks for the tips wazza. I will let you know if the soft switch was the cause of the issue. That would be an easy resolution if that's all it is

That is probably your problem, i did that on a machine and sent it to another guys territory and he had the exact same complaint
