    MX2600 E7-21

The book doesn't say much about the codes. Any ideas before I drive 100 miles tomorrow for this one? Thanks
I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

Laser detect error. The following is from the SM for E7-21 code.

    Trouble content
    Detail PCU
Cause Reduced laser power, lighting error, laser diode
    trouble.
Harness and connector trouble between the LD PWB
    and the LSU cnt PWB.
Check & Remedy Use SIM61-1 to check the operation of the LSU.
Check the PWB and connection of the harness in the
    LSU.
    Replace the LSU.

That much I saw in the book. This is a new machine, so I doubt the laser is out. I suppose the best possibility is a bad connection.

We only have a couple of these and normally with the laser it has been due to power flucuations. I've just reset them and the problem has not returned to date after the first instance. (Keep my fingers crossed now that I said that!!!!)

        Good luck.

Thanks. The sales rep out there said he reset it, but I think all he did was cycle the machine. Thanks for the response.

So far, I've seen 2 faulty Pastel2 LSU's within the first week of installation. All run-up and first week operation & testing is OK, then the LSU goes down.

Run the LSU test in sim 61. If you get result NG, you have a dead LSU. If the error disappears, keep an eye on it for now, but you may need a new LSU soon. Just warning you.

Needless to say Wazza, you were right. The LSU was bad. Thanks for the help.
