    F9-00 on ARBC320

Print was working fine, copier was moved and now customer has F9-00, Intravia says ICU or MFP board. Is there any way to re-initiallized or something? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Try reseatting the nic card and connectors. If I remember correctly f9-00 is a communication error between the nic and the machine. Maybe moving the machine jogged something loose.

I would first print out a Printer test page that shows the NIC address and verify that it is correct for their network settings. Then try to ping the network card after making sure that they have the ethernet cables connected properly. I have had to take my laptop with a crossover cable to show that it is not the copier that is causing the problem. I have had customers move their machines inside their office and not connect back to their network properly.

This is a code that states the NIC card can not detect the network. Have they changed their settings? You can go into Custom Settings, Key Op, Printer Settings, Network Settings and reset the NIC card or enter a static address.

      Hope this helps. Good luck.

        Bil,
F9-00 will not allow you to print anything as it is a print controller error. The Ready light does not come on, so anything in List Print etc etc will not function. You can only print anything once the Ready light comes on, which means the print controller board has completed bootup.

F9-00 is a communication error on the printer controller board.
Most of the time I've seen this, it actually had nothing to do with the NIC at all, although it could well be on this one, as it has been moved around.

You'll most likely find the machine displays 'please wait, printer initializing' message for a long time, followed by the 'Ready" light not turning on, then showing F9-00.
If after a few restarts and reseating/checking the NIC as the Bil & Mtech have said, doesn't get you up an running, you will have one of the following problems:

        Faulty NIC
Faulty Print controller board (try bootup without NIC installed to confirm this)
Corrupt PCL or BOOt flashrom (check, reflash or replace)
Faulty HDD (especially when PS is installed ARPK4)

I say it might not be the NIC, because each time I've had this issue with the machine down, it was either the HDD or the print control board gone bad. First thing I'd be trying is the HDD. its easy to do, as it is located on the print controller board.

If you get it up and running with the Ready light illuminated, update the engine and printer firmware ASAP.

Thank you wazza. I was not aware of that. I've had this happen a few times but it was caused by the systems router (I thought). I will have to go back and check the unit in question.
