Network Printing with a Sharp AR-507

    Hello everyone,

I am having an issue configuring my Sharp AR-507 with network printing. I have logged into the AR-NC3D print server card and configured the IP addresses correctly. I can install the print driver alright on windows but when I go to print it spools 2 prints and errors out. Does anyone have insite on why this is?

    Thank you,

    Matt

Do you have the port number/queue name set for 10001?

In the port configuration if you select RAW, port numberis 10001; if you select LPR, queue name is 10001.
I believe we always set it up as RAW, but I can't remember, and I haven't seen a Cougar print driver in years.

I believe that with Windows XP, Vista and later the queue name should be lp. I haven't tried using 10001. Next one I set up I will be sure to experiment as we still have quite a few of these!!

Actually under Xp and on you can name the queue about anything you want. Most just use lp for a standard quick name. Plus after taking the printer offline and entering the menu (@ the copier) is the Ip correct?

If your using standard tcp/ip port. Set it up with lpr queue name (lp) and enable byte count. If this does not work then the print and nic firmware is to old, so you will have to update or you can use the port setup software (Ip2p) that comes with the nic software disk, instead of the windows standard tcp/ip port.

My opinion is lyke Zootech, y have some ar-407, that think are like ar-507, and y configure them with raw, port number 10001, and works good.
