    Dragon F2-37

Has anyone else noticed the change in DV seals in Sharp KA kits? My dealership only uses Katun drums, so I haven't been able to test it with a Sharp drum, but I have noticed that since the DV seal change there have been 2 side effects:

1.) Wearing on the drum over patch causing F2-37 codes.

2.) Toner buildup on the far edges of the MC (both front and rear) causing light top and bottom, initially, and then dark shading if not cleaned.

Just wondering if any of you guys are seeing the same thing, and what you're doing. I have been leaving in the old DV seals if they're there.

We've been having the issue with both the old and new DV seals. I have been putting in the KA maintenance kit with the new drum seals and using the setting powder as recommended by Sharp and so far they see to be holding up. We use both Katun and Sharp OEM drums, same result.

Forgive me for not following you completely, but... What?

So you are having the issue with DV seals, but you use the DR seals normally and everything works fine?

I'm sorry that I wasn't clear. We get the toner build up with both the new and old types of DV seals with both Katun and OEM drums. Doesn't seem to make a difference. The only thing that seems to help is using the KA1 maintenance kit with the drum seals and DV seals and using the setting powder on the drum seals when installing the new drum. I have found that when we do this the toner buildup that you referenced is greatly reduced.

        Hope that makes better sense.

Unless there's premature drum damage I always replace both PM kits(both KA and KB) when it time for maintenance no issues really. I do notice that if the drum seal (felts) aren't cleaned regulalrly they'll destroy the drums finish causing dv and toner pull issues ruining your M/C assembly. We only use Sharp drums but have no issues with Katun!
