3m Vacuum Parts

I was wondering if anyone knew where to get replacement parts for the 3m Service Vacuum Model 497 at.
Can't seem to find any parts anywhere...we need a new motor....just figured it would be cheaper than buying a new vaccum....any suggestions?

Have you tried a local vacuum cleaner place? I think I remember one of ours saying they could get parts. Vacuum salespeople are a litte like used car dealers in their attitude, I try to avoid them.

Go get yourself a new vac! For all the trouble you will go through, why bother mate! If the motor has gone, its probably had a hard life already.

Katun has a 1HP 3M vac motor for $108. Don't know if that is what you need as they don't relate motor # to a model #.
