I have a mx-4501n that is throwing a E7-11 error. I have cleaned all optics, and replaced the SCU PWA. Any other suggestions that may help resolve this would be helpful. I have the manual and have read through the solutions.
Thanks!
Was the new SCU pwb you replaced the latest part number (CPWBX1713DS738) ? The previous SCU pwb for the 4501 was CPWBX1713DS528. The new part number has a new regulator IC which stops noise, causing E7-11.
Otherwise, check or replace the scanner memory board which is located on top of the SCU. I've had a few 3501 & 4501's give this error and it was the memory board.
If all both lamps work, optics are clean and firmware up-to-date, it's probably going to be one of the above.
I had swapped the SCU with one from another machine that is functioning, and I continue to get the same error. It appears someone has removed the scanner CCD and also turned some of the blue painted screws. I am planning to measure another machine tomorrow to see if I can get the ccd assembly dialed in. Not sure if this will be possible.
