    Intermittant black copy on rear side is usually either a short-circuit on the scanner connector cable (bent or touching pins) or a faulty ribbon cable on the scanner PWB. Check continuity of the ribbon cable. Reseat or replace if needed.

        If by that you mean our recent rain........ well, it's better today. Melbourne had its ass kicked in over the weekend! Its been described as the once-a-century storm.
