Sharp mx2700 e7-80

Has anyone seen a e7-80 (comminication trouble between controller and scanner) on a mx color.

I have once. Its a rare code though. From memory the scanner firmware was corrupted. A simple re-flash of the firmware fixed the issue. In sim 22-05 firmware version check, the scan version was blank instead of showing the version number.

But reseat & check all cables on the scan board.

Thanks for the help. The scan board replacement fixed the problem but I have not figured if it is the board or the Rom yet.
