    E7-10 Code

    - Hey all I've got a AR208D that's having a recurring E7-10 code (black shading correction). I know it's ccd related and both myself and another tech have checked the ribbon cable. It only happens after it returns to home position and only seems to happen whe the doc feeder is used. It started 1 day after the previous tech went out there and he changed the density settings in 46-1 and 46-2 . Has anyone else run in to this issue before? I've ordered up the grayscale to calibrate it ,it should be in tommorow. The copies and prints are excellent and have great density.

If your mirrors are not absolutely parallel, you'll get codes or shading along one side of paper.

It's not the white reference patch it's on the return to home (start of scan). It's sporatic so I,m leaning toward the ribbon cable AR168 has had issues or the carriage unit Sharp has changed the part number on it.

I've encountered that code but not on that model, the same thing is its also Sharp. Check the right cabinet unit SPF that usually the cause of E7-10. Clean or bring a spare part of that small glass.

If it didn't solve the problem, the next step is check the ccd unit.

Hey all an update for you.It wasn't anything to do with the white reference ,it had to do with the black shading correction . I ran all of the 63 sims.Tested for a week been returned for over a week all ok.
