    Ar168d printing

    Hello all

i have an ar168d that is giving me some trouble. Every once in a while the customer will send a print job to the copier and the copier display will just read processing print job and the document will not print they have left it like that over night one night and in the morning it still said the sae message. I bought the machine back to the shop and hooked it to my notebook and sent anywhere from 3 to 25 jobs to it simulatiously, and everything prints out with no lockups. Anyone have any ideas on this issue?? It is hooked up via usb. Thanks in advance for any information!!!

Next time this happens, get a copy of the document causing this problem, print it from your notebook while onsite next to the machine. Is it being caused by any one document or particular PC?
I'd be reloading the drivers on the PC's, make sure the USB cable is correct specification/length and not damaged in any way.
USB printing problems are generally caused by the driver. Its mostly a connectivity issue. If your print tests have been OK, I'd rule out any memory or print board problem. Take another USB cable with you, reload drivers, try printing any 'problem' documents on another AR168D in your workshop just to ensure the machine can actually process it. I had a call yesterday on a color MX4500N, printing a quite low file size PDF, it would just not work after the second page. Same issue as your machine.... just sitting there processing over and over. Tried different driver versions, PCL5, PCL6, PS etc etc no fix. The same document printed perfectly fine on any other printer, including color lasers elsewhere in the office. Tried a second series MX driver MX5000N and it worked perfectly fine, yet no first series MX driver would touch it.
Your issue very well could be driver related, but dont rule out the document being printed.
