    [Misc] Sharp AR-C150 / AR-PE1 Fiery X4 Server Bios

Our non-profit just received a donation of 2 Sharp AR C-150 copiers with Fiery X4 (AR-PE1) servers. One works fine but the second appears to boot but the LCD on the front is blank. I am unable to change the IP address to pout it on our network to access it via the Webtools. I can force boot it to the NT4 login screen but can't get it to boot off the CD so I can change the administrator login and password using utilities I have.

My question is: what key do I use to get into the setup menu to set the CD to the first priorty in the boot sequence.

    Thanks

    Rich

P.S. My knowledge level is ZERO when it comes to copiers but I'm the closest they have since I donate my time .

My experience with that model Fiery, is that if it doesn't boot properly, or the display either doesn't work at all or is corrupted, you most likely have a loose connector inside. There is a common issue on the very early PE1's that have a different cable type going to the display panel which sometimes comes loose. If your Fiery has been moved around, as you have just been given it, there is a good chance something is loose.

Is it making any 'beep' codes during startup? That is a key sequence of possible faulty memory, flat motherboard battery or faulty motherboard in general.

If you have an old VGA monitor, you can also hook that up to the VGA port on the back. That over-rides the front panel.

I have the full service, setup & configuration manuals if you want them. Just send me your email. They are actually very good and quite informative on these Fiery's.

When it comes time for service of the actual copier.... dont even try doing anything yourself! The Bear series color machines are a massive pain in the ass, even for me.... and I've been working on them for years!
