    sharp ar-m450 U1-01

    Hi friends
    Good night
i m here again whith a new headache.
I have a costumer wtih two ar-m450, one of them has installed the ar-fx7, fax module.
A few days ago i must bring it to our workshop, for a maintenace, and for the client not be without fax,
i put the arf-x7 in the another copier, and everything ok.

today i return whith the copier repaired, at client home, but whent i put again the module fax give me U1-01?? i check everything, all conetions everyathing ok, but the code U1-01 apears always.

weel, i took the fax module out, and the code U1-01 yet apears??

y try put the module fax in the first one, and give too U1-01?

finaly i took out the module fax out and this copiers was too with U1-01 to.

y d'ont understantd what hapened, now the copiers whithout fax, when y conect them gives me always U1-01.

the copiers are good, because y already was tested whith one third print board.

    Some ideas.

thanks in advance and hope understand my english.

The only time I've seen this problem is if the machine has corrupted firmware. Basically the same situation & trouble code sequence.
Also check the MCU battery jumper on JP6 is set to ON.

Check the jumper is correct first, after that, re-flash all firmware with correct type.

        re

        thanks wazza
yes the jumper is in the correct posicion.
the code apears, but when y chose copier mode the code desapear, only apear when y choose scan mode or y turn of /on again the copier.

The only thing that i d'ont understand was, the two copiers are good, and when change the ar-fx7, the two stay whith the issue, in same time?

and, the issue is in the print pbw because i tested the two copiers whith one third print pbw and the two are good?

curios, one time apears U2-22, i never see this code.

        thanks

I still think you have a firmware issue. Similar problem to something I've had before.

Run sim 13 AND sim 14 to clear U1 errors with the fax kit installed.
Run sim 16 to clear your U2 errors with the fax kit installed.

NVRAM clear the fax kit and try again.

U2-22 is a SRAM memory checksum error (ICU).

Replace the ICU board if problem continues.

E7-50 comes up when you have either a problem PCU board, or incompatible PCU or Laser (ARM350 & ARM450 PCU and Laser not interchangable).
I doubt you have been changing the Laser or PCU board yet, so its possible you have a faulty PCU. Maybe a fried PCU board?

                This is weird now!!

Yes, firmware is the same for 350 & 450. But, I dont know what version that is you mentioned?? Do you mean mJc.11?

You shouldnt get any error like that after firmware upgrading, unless something is drastically wrong with your file, a flashrom or a pwb.

I have no other documentation on this now..... its too weird.
                    Anyone else seen this?

                      re

                      Hi wazza
                      good morning.
Today i discovery the issue, is the pcu flash room, because in upgrade dthe copier whith the lateste firmware fdrom sharp, bu y discovery now tha this copier was inidtialy a sagem 9535, and y must flash the pcu whith the sagem firmwasre, but i have a great problem because i haven,dt this firmware.

is strange because the copier when start sthe logo is SHARP, but the pcu flash must be sagem firmware.

thanks, any idea where y can get that?

                        fix it

                        I friends.
I`m again, sorry the errors in my previous message.
First, thanks everybody for all replys.
The issue is fix, the copier first entered into U1-01, verything was fine including the battery charge, and
i could not eliminate the error whith SM 13, com gave me error.
Then i decided flash the copier, and after gave me another error and nor work more, i mean E7-50.
                        ere worsened my headache??
Finally the solution, the copier does not have any indication on the outside in the dor, like sharp or another manufacturer, or in the back, but the logo SHARP apears on the control panel when the copier boots.
However noticed that the copier was sharp ar-m350 but in sagem 9535 incorporation, and the flash pcu that was flashed whith firmware sharp must be flashed whith sagem firmware and the issue was fix, and reset U1-01 whit sm13.

The only thing I shuffled, was wy the copier accept boot and main sharp firmware and the pcu do not accept??

thanks one more time, my best regards.

                          Nice fix Dingo!

I knew something was up when I saw that firmware version you mentioned in an earlier post. That was not a Sharp file.

Sounds like you have some sort of generic copier, that has been de-badged, running different brand firmware versions. Really weird! Thats why no-one could help you out sooner, as that was unexpected.

                          Good work mate.
