    Fiery issue

We have a MX-7001 with Fiery installed on it. The machine itself turns on but the fiery doesn't, is there something we might be missing that would cause it to not work? I have never personally worked with the fiery since this machine is the only one we have with it installed, I'm relaying the message I was delivered.

    Thanks in advance.

Fiery's usually have there own power cord and there own off/on switch.

Take a harder look at it and see if you can find the switch or the power cord. Unplugging it and plugging it back in might get it to fire back up.

And sometimes the power cord is for the fiery is plugged into the copier.

Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

I went to look at the machine. Opened up the Fiery unit and have power going in and power to the switch and the switch is good. Suspect the main board but haven't checked voltages at the plug on the board yet, that's my next step. Any input would help.
I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

New info. I have no DC power at the main board connector. I'm thinking I probably should have. I'm assuming the power supply now. Right?

That would be the obvious cause at this stage.

The only time I've had power up or random shutdown issues on the PEX2 fiery's was a unit that had a cracked CPU fan clip. The fan was not sitting on the CPU correctly, therefore overheated and shutdown the unit. Fiery then wouldnt restart.

Sending you some info on the PEX2/PEX3 units as well.

Thanks Wazza. That helped. I checked the cooling fan and it was good, so I'm going with the power supply.
