    MX-4100 colors shifted

Strange problem what i have, only at the beginning of the week when they start up. The color magenta is shifted about 2 inch as to the other colors. After a few hours the problem is gone en they have no problem at all the rest of the week.
First i thought the problem could be the main driveunit, but all the colors are controlled at the same time. I'm almost sure it's something mechanical but can't put my finger on int

Make sure the firmware is up-to-date. The ICU main must be 04.05.J2 & the PCU 01.15.J2. Then change sim 55-01 s/sw 9, bit 2 from 0 to 1.

This corrects magenta vertical scan registration (no temperature correction).
I have had a few do this (although not as bad as 2 inches), and this definitely fixed it.

Also, just check the primary transfer belt unit is all OK. There is a chance it could be main drive unit related, but if the colors are OK for the rest of the week, I doubt it.

Run rego adj 50-22 as well. Please attach a sample page too if possible.

According to Sharp Benelux there is no later firmware than 04.03.J2 and 0.13.J2

Maybe the problem is caused by a bad environment (humidity) what causes a leak of PTC.

We will find out mondaymorning. When whe fixed the problem, i will let you know. Thnx at least for respons on this one.

You guys are still running old firmware!!! The version I listed has been out for weeks now. The switch change is included in that firmware release notes as a change to make when you have magenta rego issues.

It cannot be PTC related, as the image is already on the primary belt before the PTC does what it is designed to do (discharge the belt surface a little bit to allow more toner transfer onto the paper at the transfer point).

The new firmware has the environment fix in it (the switch change I mentioned).

How did this machine go first thing monday morning??

I've done abit more research on this, and yes, you need the latest firmware, then change the switch mentioned above. Should make a BIG difference.

Yesterday we received CCE-805 and firmware after some calls to SHARP Benelux
On Monday we didn't see the problem and couldn't simulate it. We're still monitoring the machine carefully and asked for immediate reaction when the problem occurs. The latest change we made was replacement of belt 2.
When we solved it permanently i let you know. Thnx for the respons on this one.

Glad you have the correct firmware now. With that switch change, I'll be very surprised if it comes back...... so far, so good.

As I said earlier with the PTC unit, the secondary belt unit wouldn't cause this issue, as the image is already on the primary belt unit before transfer at the secondary belt. I bet this is a firmware fix, like many machines here have been so far.
