    [Jamming] MX-2301N

    Hey all...
I have a brand new MX-2301 in the field that won't feed from tray 1.
I've had the paper feed out...checked the PE Actuator...no sensors knocked loose and the jam code only lists "Tray 1".
I've cheated the door and watched all the rollers working normally...it goes through the motions but no paper is presented and it reports a misfeed.
Anyone seen this before?....maybe on the 2300's?

I had the same problem.i removed the drawer front and watched the roller rotate an even though they are touching the paper it doesn't feed. i fixed this by changing the paper height sensor. it has three sense levels and seemed to be stopping the lift motor a fraction too soon.

If everything looks OK, the PF roller drops down, and the rollers are all turning as supposed to, a common cause is the paper lower in tray has folded over, causing an incorrect level of paper. The PE actuator will detect the top of the paper, stop the lift motor, but the paper is sitting in an angle in the tray and the PF roller just misses it.

The only other thing (other than Bonnie's genius idea) is the PF roller can get dusty & slip on the paper when trying to feed. This is common if they use letterhead in that tray.
