Installing Sharpdesk 2.7 on Windows 7

Installing Sharpdesk 2.7 on Windows 7 - is this possible?

I tried to install Sharpdesk 2.7 on my system from the installation CD I got with the machine, AR-M155. But I never got past the stage where an alert window pops up saying
Setup is unable to find _Setup.dll, which is needed to complete the installation.
    Error 103.
There is no such file on the disk, with a leading underscore.

I can't get Sharpdesk 3.x because these seem to only go with the higher and more expensive models.

If someone knows a working download link for v.2.7 that might in some way be better than my version, please PM me. My version is 2.7.2.165C.

Any sharp websites has the Sharpdesk version 3.31B which is required to install in Win7. Any model copier of Sharp will work.
Download the ver3.31B and starts the setup. Upon half way installation it is required to insert the original CD and the product key.
    Good luck.

Thanks for answering, but maybe you didn't read my post very carefully. The model I have is one of the simplest and cheapest. Non-free versions of Sharpdesk, i.e. 3.x are NOT offered for MFPs like mine. Therefore, my CD only contains drivers and Sharpdesk 2.7.

It will really be annoying if I can't use my scanner. While running XP earlier I could use the scanner (platen) even without Sharpdesk. I just started the scanner - either from the machine and ABBYY Fine Reader launched, or I could start the scanner from ABBYY. But this is not possible now.

      ------------
EDIT: I have managed to get the scanner working from ABBYY. I had to manually enter the path to "FineReader.exe" in the Button Manager because it wasn't listed in the available programs.

You should be able to download the newer version of SharpDesk and use the same product key that came with the version you have. Though, the new version, i don't believe will have the button manager. Give that a try and see if it works for you.

If your version doesn't include the product key, I'm afraid you may be out of luck. That version won't be made Windows 7 compatible.

I bought a second hand machine from the official importer but they didn't give me an original CD. The copy I got had the drivers, the manuals, Sharpdesk 2.7. I think it is, however, Sharp's policy and not the importer's, to offer the free "low" version of Sharpdesk. If you buy a cheap machine, you get "free" software, if you buy an expensive machine, you get the "upgraded" software. If I'm right, that's soooo stupid of Sharp.
