FK-2 error code For Sharp MX1100

has anyone come across this error code (FK-2) for Sharp MX1100? it doesn't cause the machine any operation errors but it just keeps appearing on the screen and everything else is normal. Its just that the user is finding this kinda of irritating and wants it to be resolved. there is no such error code in the service / installation manuals.

Did you check the web in the fuser unit?
FK codes are for the web when they run out. also check the web sensor .
the web needs to be replaced every 500K. It usually goes another 250 before it gives you and error or stops working.
So, replace the web MX950WC and check the WEBEND sensor operation.

The Hercules series doesn't have an FK2 code. There is definitely an FK3 code, which as Fanasa has already said, is the web kit expired.
There is no fuser roller or fuser unit counter on the Herc's, so there is no FK1 or FK2 codes, only the FK3 for the web.

Double check the code, replace the web when its due. Dont let it continue to run with an expired web!

well this has nothing to do with the web or the sensors as i said this code is not in any service manuals or technical bulletins for the web its FK3 but this is FK2 it just keeps on appearing but doesn't cause any problem oh yeah changed the web already but didn't get rid or the code....

            Well, this is interesting.

I'd be re-flashing the firmware to start with. Make sure it is current version 02c06.H0.

There is one MXM1100 here that does its 1million fuser roller life very quickly.... about every 4-5 weeks. As a test, I once let the fuser rollers go to 2.5million as they were in perfect condition at the 1million mark, and I just monitored how they would go over a longer time frame. Never saw any FK2 code during that time either. In fact, never seen it at all on a Hercules.

Your issue sounds like a firmware glitch to me. The code doesn't exist. Please inform us what the outcome is on this one. I'm very curious.

              the mysterious code!!!

well just bout tried everything firmware up grade is up to date so is everything else for the time being i have told the user to switch to the the other mxm1100 and removed all the pwb connectors n flash cards for a day and guess what that damn irritating FK2 code has gone! this is really strange and unexplainable (one of those x file cases)....but we are yet to confirm whether or not the FK2 code has gone for good.......the latest news is that japan says that there is such a code and it is caused by a counter reset fail God only knows which one! we'll just have to wait for the technical bulletin..... by the way this mxm1100 has done over 17mil copies over the past 2 years.....

Nice fix mate! A weird one, but nicely done! +1R

Will keep an eye out for the bulletin as well. I haven't had FK2 ever, on any Herc machine around here.

The Hercs will do 24mil, so I'd say she'll still be shiny & new.
