    Mac to an AR-350??

I have a customer who wants to hook up her Mac. They've been printing to this machine through the parallel port. (It doesn't have the NIC card.) I've never connected a mac. What's involved? THANKS in advance.

Printing to parallel port shouldn't be a problem, but you're going to need the Postscript kit installed in the machine to start with.

As Wazza already mentioned, you'll need Postscript.

I don't know anything about Sharps, but I can tell you that Macs don't have parallel ports. (Be careful; older Macs have a SCSI port which is the same connector as parallel uses, a DB25, but it's not parallel.)

Here's a suggestion: If the NIC for the m/c isn't available and/or too pricey, look on eBay for a parallel JetDirect box. They support Mac just fine.

I say eBay because I don't think you can easily get a new parallel model anymore, as they have all gone USB.
