    ARC-330

My customer just purchased one of these and wants to put it on the network. It has a fiery. Does anyone know how to program the IP address, etc. on this machine.
    Thanks,
    Dan

You need to log into the Fiery & run the setup option. You will find the Network setup option listed in there. Print the configuration page under the 'print pages' option.

If you need the setup step-by-step procedure for that Fiery, let me know.

I hope you've had some training on servicing these babies..... They can be a PITA at the best of times.

      Thanks for your response Wazza

I have training and work on a number of MX machines. 35 & 4501's. I've never had to deal with a fiery though so any additional info would be greatly appreciated. For example...how do you get into the fiery??? LOL this should be a great learning process. The crap we get ourselves into some times!

There should be a print button. You take the machine offline and then should be able to enter the Menu. You can browse through until you find a spot to enter the IP. The buttons on the touch screen are a bit werid. I can't remember the exact procedure but it's done from the Printer screen. When ever you power this machine off you must also tell the fiery to shut down. Failure to power the machine down properly can result in the fiery becomming corupt and you will have to reflash the thing. Again this is done from the Menu in the print screen.

I hope you don't put this thing under contract. It's a pain in the ass as Wazza said. They can make great color but the PM cycle is 40k and it's a lot of screwing around to work on this thing. Even harder if you have to trouble shoot it.

Also if this thing is the same as the ARC270, it can't sort in copy mode with out a 10 bin sorter lol.

        Enjoy...
