    Sharp MX-M453N-Adding to address book

    H Guys,

I'm new to this forum and was hoping for a bit of help with the above mentioned photocopier.

I am looking to set up scanning to a network destination (i know how to do this as i have done so previously), the issue i am having is when adding to the address book via the web page. I go to the address book but for some reason there is no button to add

Can't see anything in the options to turn on or off etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Any chance you can post a screen shot of the address book page? It should be at the bottom of the page. Can you add using the control panel?

The control panel has a big color display right? Not a b/w one.

This may sound silly but are you logged in as adminstrator for the web page? I don't think it will allow you to add new addresses without being logged in.

      Good luck.

Untitled.jpgThanks for the reply guys, i can confirm that i am logged in as administrator.

Unfortunatly i am connecting remotely to the machine, so i cannot actually go to it and attempt to use the control panel, but all the addresses were added via the webpage. the pic is below, obvioulsy i had to black out the names addresses etc.

You got me man. Click on Application Settings. There should be a delete/add boxes there. See if the Add box is present. You could try a differnt web browser. I just took a peek on my MX4101 and i can't see any spot to disable the addition of address book entrys.

          What game? :P

Well maybe i just thought i replied... Check User Control - Authority Group List and see if there have been any changes to the Administrator Group authority. You can allow or prohibit several settings there.

I just made a test account on my MX4101 and put it in the guest authority group which is prohibited from modifying the address book. When i logged into the web page 90% of the side bar was totally gone. You can't even view the address book if your prohbited. Have you tried hitting this thing with firmware?

worked out what the issue was....

Under system settings enter enable\disable settings, then scroll down to image and untick boxes (they would be ticked if disabled). submit and there you go...

                cheers for the advice guys
