You are referring to the primary tranfer blade correct???
I see this often just clean and reprime it again,I'vew had to repeat this as many as 4 time before.

What powder did you use on the belt? These things are bloody fussy and your not the first to ask this one

I copied this from our resident guru in a previous thread here: http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/sh...e-fitting.html

One tip I can give you is that once the belt surface & blade are powdered correctly (Titanium Hydroxide UKOG-0322FCZZ on those belt kits), fully fit the cleaning unit, rotate the belt surface one complete turn, remove the cleaning unit and run your finger along the very tip of the blade to remove any impurities that have built up on the blade. Wind the belt surface backwards a few inches, refit the cleaning unit and install the transfer belt in the machine. I then run about 50-100 pages through the machine for testing. I always use sim 64-05 self test print, as its a good chance to see any print quality issues, as well as fully seating the blade against the belt surface. If you can run a test print like that and the last page is as clean as the first, then there is virtually no chance of the streaks appearing after you leave.

That is the procedure I use every day, and it has never failed me yet. I learnt this through trial-and-error.

          Thanks Lawrence.

Another thing to remember, is if you are performing a refurb on a primary transfer belt unit, ALL the rollers (transfer, drive, guide, follower) within the belt unit frame MUST be either replaced or thoroughly cleaned. If you just fit a new belt onto the transfer belt unit without touching any of the rollers, the new belt will soon be sticking to the main drive roller (large black one) and passing under the cleaning blade. This causes both waste toner stains & very poor cleaning of the belt suface, even though the belt & cleaning blade are new.

A refurb of a primary belt unit is a thorough job if you want it to last and work properly from the beginning.

If it is a new belt unit, do what is already mentioned above. I have seen many cases of impurities catching on the blade and causing poor cleaning on a new unit. A quick wipe, reseat & thorough powder of the belt & blade will fix this everytime.
