MX-2300 scan to folder authentication problem

    Hi Guys

I have 3 mx2300's remanufactured gone into a customers 2 of which went onto the network without a hitch scanning to a network folder. The 3rd one set up identically in the web browser gives an error of 'Account name or authentication password is invalid,Cosult your network adiministrator' after sending.

As they all had previous lives at different customers I decided to format the hard drive and reset the nic , let it pick up the info via DHCP then set a static ip. None of which has cured the fault.

I have also tried setting it up on my laptop but I keep getting CE-00 network error.

The machine has no User codes and copies and prints fine.

Any help would be gratefully received, thanks Chaps

Try running device cloning and storage and backup from the web page using the links on the left hand side. Device cloning should copy all DNS settings, mail etc etc except for the IP address. Storage and backup can copy the address book.

Dump those into the problem machine and see what happens. Maybe some odd ball setting in the network page in one of the differnt tabs has been changed and didn't flip back after the NIC reset.
Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

This has something to do with rights.
Check if you filled in a username and password while adding a new user in the adressbook.
Maybe you can set the domainname before the username ( like 'sharp\administrator')

Also look at the shared folder if the permissions are fine. Maybe you can give in the ip adress instead of the hostname in the unc path. (like '\\192.168.0.1\scanfolder')

The CE-00 error can have something to do with a firewall or virusscanner. Try to add the machine into the firewall as exception.

I hope you find a solution...

        Hi Guys

Sorry I have took so long to get back, but a firmware update did the trick, I tried cloning but the tab was missing from the web browser, sure enough after the firmware update it returned.

        Cheers

        Adam
