    Dxc400 can't run 24-01

Does anyone know how to run 24-01 on this machine. I tried yesterday to clear the jam and trouble counts and got as far as selecting which one to delete and then nothing else the book said to do worked. This is the only one of these oddballs we have, (the rest are mxc machines). Any help would be great.
I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

If it's the same as the MX-C machines it should be to highlight the ones to clear and hit execute on the LCD. Not alot of familiarity with the DX-C's.

That's the problem. The screen on the DX isn't a touch screen and the way you select it is to enter the number of the item you want to clear then use the arrow keys to select execute then hit OK button. That's what the book says anyway, but it doesn't work.

Ouch. To quote the typical response when I call the Sharp hotline, "Let us know when you fix it"

Why would they take an already marginal machine (the mxc series) and make it worse? Bored engineer.

My only thought would be firmware. And yeah i'm less than impressed with the Frontier series. Too loud, fuser too fragile, but it sells like hotcakes around here due to the price. But then you get what you pay for IMO.

I'll try that next time I'm in the area. I would have done it yesterday but someone forgot to put my firmware memory stick in my pocket. Thanks.

Like the MXC310 & MXC380 (4.3 inch non-touch screen), when using the service modes, you need to also use the OSA select key (which is the one that looks like a backwards arrow... above system settings key).

Its abit confusing, but using the usual cross-bar button as well as the OSA select key & 'OK' key to enter the menus is the way that its done.

Thanks, I'll try that next time I'm there. Do you have an actual procedure you could send me? There isn't any mention of any of that in the service manual. It just says select counter to be cleared, press execute and yes, just like the other machines that do have a touch screen.
                  Thanks

Page 111 of the MXC Serv Manual (basic operation of simulation).

You'll see its says to select the item with the cross key and then OSA key. You then use the cross key to move across the screen to select execute & yes by using the OK button.

Thanks, I'll just have to go there and try it. It doesn't make much sense without a machine to look at. Thanks again and have a merry Christmas. Go make a snowman. : )
