AR-M355N Flash Roms for Firmware Update

I'm trying to perform a firmware update on a AR-M355N copier. If I received a NG code after performing the update, is it possible to reuse the flash rom to retry the firmware update after a NG code was given or is it neccessary to obtain new, blank flash roms from Sharp to successfully perform the update?

Does it have the ELEM (yellow dotted line) or NON ELEM chips (white dotted line) on the top? The wrong type firmware will cause a NG error. You should be able to re-use the flash ROMs.
