[Jamming] MX-B381 main transfer betl jamming

We are experincing some repetitive jamming just before the 1st transfer belt unit.
Like is not synchronizing with paper feed.

We changed main transfer belt but problem is still there.

Any advice on it? We are new on sharp machines, so any help would be appreciated.
Machine has 4.000 pages total (made in a month).

P, *, C, * will get you into Sims. Check Sim 22-3 and 22-4. 22-5 will get your firmware levels. You could scan us a 22-6 (list print) and it will tell every thing about the machine.

Your getting jamming at CPFD1. The sensor is detecting paper remaining when it comes from Tray 1. There was a spring changed in the paper pickup unit to stop double feeding.

The firmware is quite old. The PCU is now 01.10.f0. The ICU is 01.03.f1. Get this updated to include all the fixes included in the upgrades.

Going by the serial number of your machine, you already have the modified spring installed. Therefore, this can be a paper issue. What type of paper is being used in tray1 when this jamming occurs? Heavy paper on a plain paper setting will do this. Paper dust in the optical transport sensors will cause this as well.
Clean all optical transport sensors, clean all transport rollers. Make sure you are using good quality plain paper and test a continuous copy or print run. Make sure the mylar on the tray lead-edge is not damaged or bent upwards.

Paper used is almost good (may be not the best, but is a good product).
Because of our customer is a little bit upset (customer of the worst type) next week we should change the whole machine with a new one so we could check your advices in our labs.

This customer with this machine has a production of 6000 page month, do you think is too much? How long will it last?
We don't have much experience with sharp machine (especially with this A4 type)

6000 per month is fine.
Those machines are rated at 50K-75K maximum. I've never come across one yet with that monthly cycle, but it would have to be in a good environment, with top quality paper being used.

We tell our customers 5k a month max. The 5 year life on that box is 300k i think. All of our guys are really starting to despise that box as they are starting to become half our service calls and most of them are not even a year old yet.

Keep a fuser in stock. It probably has the old style bearing which blow up any were between 10k-50k. You will get a call for grinding in the top right of the copier. Also the flag that detects if the fuser preasure is on or off breaks some times even after the upgraded flag has been installed so keep one of those to. Don't crank your auto shut off and pre heat, this will help with flags not breaking. You won't want to rebuild that thing on site to badly if you don't have space to work. We just swap em out and rebuild later.

Also keep document feed roller kits. Some times the grease in the "1 way bearing" on the pickup roller gums up the bearings and causes DF jams.
