[Error Code] mxfn10 saddle stitch jams and codes!!

    hi
ive been having problems with a mxfn10 finisher on a mx 5000, it started with jams when doing booklets once clearing the jammed staples in the saddle stapler it would continue as normal for a few more then jam again! i updated the firmware and it seemed ok for amonth or so, now it doesnt seem to work at all, when doing a booklet it seems to print out ok but without staples, so today i replaced the whole staple assembley but now the saddle stapler goes to back of machine and makes a groaning noise and comes up with an f1-08 code, i suspect the hp sensor on the new unit faulty so will head back with a new one, is there anything i can do aswell to ensure it runs smoothly, i hve seen a bulletin about some super lube will this help?any help would be appreciated
    regards
    ben
also does anyone know what the maximum monthly volume is for the booklet maker, the customer in question is doing approx 4 - 4.5k booklets a month

The problem is not the saddle staple unit. The issue with the noise, F1-08 code & the missing staples all revolves around the fact that your staple units are out of sync. I see this every week and have done alot of the repairs on the FN10's. They are now actually quite easy to do. Dont use the Superlube, use either WD40 or Mr Sheen instead on the upper stapler rail once both staple units are in sync. Send me your email.

PROBLEM NOW SOLVED!, i bought forward both of the staple units, and adjusted the drive belt accordingly, this did not solve the problem as it still made the dreaded noise and the f1-08 code reappeared once copier was switched on i then browsed through the sharp bulletins and noticed that the sensor gear on the rear of finisher was out of align also, once i had realigned this gear (lining up the marks on the gear to the photointeruptor - as per sharp bulletin) everything worked perfectly, thanks for all your help, much appreciated

Still make sure the upper stapler rail is clean & lubricated (its the square rail). This definitely helps the main & saddle staple units keep in sync, without the belts slipping, then causing either staples missing or F1-08. I'll send you some info on this.
