    Sharp AR-BC320 Transfer Unit

So now I'm finding service work on models I don't usually work on and today have a Sharp AR-BC320 that needs the wiper in the TU replaced.

But I can't figure out which part it is!

I see kits listed, but can't ID the included parts by number. I *think* what I'm after is the "Belt Toner Blade", but why isn't that in the kit?

Hopefully, someone with a little more Sharp experience can help out. What is the proper procedure and parts list for "overhauling" the TU?

    Thanks !

I highly recommend that you replace the whole belt unit. The belt unit to rebuild is simple enough in its own right, but when it comes down to price difference & the problems that you'll have with the belt skipping (therefore causing constant jams), its hardly worth it. The whole belt unit will usually run double-life anyway in the right environment (200K).

If you want to rebuild the belt, you'll need ARC26TT, ARC26TX, ARC26HB. This is the belt, rollers & waste toner box (includes the blade).
Make sure you powder the crap out of the blade & belt surface with Kynar powder before putting it back together, otherwise you'll have big problems. A new belt unit never has any issues.

The EU's trouble is an apparent failure of the blade; the belt seems otherwise OK. Is it possible to just replace the blade? Sorry for the hassel, I'm just trying to make sure I understand. Plus, that unit is $500!.

The cleaning blade for the belt unit comes built onto the waste toner unit. Otherwise, order UCLEZ0170FCZZ. That is the blade part number. just dismantle the waste toner box from the bottom of the belt unit.

Make sure you powder that belt surface & blade extremely well. It will stall the belt rotation in random timing. Make sure the belt surface isnt starting to crack around the edges. This will catch on the blade, also causing timing problems.

The entire operation of the Whales, relies on the belt unit working perfectly. If it is starting to wear, extra jams always occur, as the timing of the paper into the fuser is wrong.

Yep, as I said..... highly recommended.

Just remember to remove the cardboard seal & 2 tension screws on the new belt unit before you install it. Reset in sim 24. It will make a few weird noises for the first few seconds when the belt starts rotating. This is normal. Its the belt & blade sealing correctly with the powder on it. You dont need to apply extra powder to a new belt unit, only on a refurb.
