Scan to Email and save in doc filing

    Is this possible?

I have a customer, who has a Sharp MX-2600n, who has told me that they used to scan to email and that scan was also stored in Document Filing so they can look back at previous scan which have been sent. This has now stopped working.
I was not aware that this was possible and neither was the other techie I spoke to, but the customer is insistant that they used to do this.

Does anyone know if this is possible and if so how to do it?

    Thanks

I don't know about storing on HDD of copier, though you can setup group scan were there would be an e-mail and a scan to a network folder setup. That may be what they were doing.

On the embedded web page go to Application Settings, then Document Administration Function. There you can set up Forward all Send and/or Receive images to either a Network folder, Email, FTP or Desktop. I'm not sure if they meant a network folder or the MFP's actual Document Filing function, but I'll guess it was the former.

Thank you both for your replies.

That is what I thought they meant as well. But they do seem to believe that it's storing on the MFP's harddrive in it's document filing function.

Check the HDD status; if they have been storing email documents there, it will show a high % of usage.

Just had a look at the customers copier and the hard drive still has 47% free space.
After looking at the embedded web page I can see "scan to email" jobs which back up the fact that it did used to work (see attached screenshot).

Just realised that it's probably a network scanner tool setup. Didn't look at the server so will need to look into this a bit further.

No its not a Network Scanner Tool setup. Back to the drawing board. If anyone has any ideas how this is possible it would really help me.

I realize this is an older thread but wanted to see if you found an answer to this issue. I notice that your screenshot is scanning to an FTP Server, not the Hard Drive on the machine. Could that be what they were referring to as their "Hard Drive" . The FTP Server is probably on a shared PC on their network and stores the scans to it. Thanks!

Check page 5-11 of the operators guide. This allows you to also file the image in document filing by using the "file" or "Quick file" button as well as email. Or at least it appears that way from what I can see. Do not see any settings under admin system settings to make this permanent.

                    Good luck.

                      Bill is right,
the only way to scan (or copy) and store your documents at the same time in your Hdd is by using File or Quick File buttons on your touch screen.
Remember: Quick File is a temporary storing and you will lose your data when power off the machine. For a permanent storing use only File button.
                      Regards
