ARM550N Document Filing to PC Problem

    Hi,

My company just got a used ARM550N machine. I'm trying to set up document filing and try to save a copy to my computer via the web portal. However, when I open it, the page is all black. Can you advise what should I do? Thanks.

Are you using Sharpnet as your scanning utility? If not, you should be.

No, it's used machine that doesn't come with any disc. Where can I get a copy of the software? Thanks.

Have you used another computer to access the web portal? It sounds like you might have a problem with your computers web security - if you have tried another and it is consistant there is a possiblity your copier's firmware might need to be upgraded. Firmware on this model can be tricky as it requires you to know what chip style you have installed. - Also I believe the software mentioned above is Sharpdesk not Sharpnet. It only applies if you have the scan option installed - you can check that in the user custom settings under key operator (00000 - password) then scroll down to bottom and check product keys - If the scan option is available it will be highlighted. If the scan option is available you can use sharpdesk to scan to your computers.

You can do a search and find a copy but it is not availible from Sharp as a customer download just through the tech portal unfortunately. It's about 250MB in size. Document Filing will not save to your computer just the machines hard drive. You should be able to link and then move the file to your computer through the document filing portion of the machines web page. If you can't get Sharpdesk then you can go to the machines web page and set up an address in address control through image send and put the location where you want to send it to. If you have scan enabled. They did not come with this standard. If scan is not enabled then you would need to purchase that product key but as this runs somewhere around $700 it might not be worth it for you.

          Good luck.

First of all, thanks all for helping. I'm new here.

I went to machines web page and can see the documents I scan. Then I tried to "save to PC" and when I open it, whole page is black. Am I missing anything here?

It's been awhile since I have done this with the ARM550 series but it worked for me. What does the document look like when your reprint it from the hard drive?

It's all black as above when I "save to PC" and it's normal when I reprint from harddrive. Thanks.

TIFF or PDF format? Change to the other format.

You can default it at the machine...system settings /admin mode/image send/other settings OR on the scan screen I believe there is a button for the format.

You can go to the web page, log in as admin and click on Destination. Put a check mark in the destination you want to change and click Edit. Any changes can then be made and then submit. A little more involved than mojorrolla's but it can be done remotely.

That's what I like about the Sharps, you can do everything remotely.
