    AR-M355N

Customer inherited this unit from the previous owner. Machine is pristine inside and out but the scanner, AR-EF3, isn't recognized by their scanning program.

While attempting to install Network Scanner Utilities, from the original Sharp Network Scanner Expansion Kit AR-NS Series CD the dialog box asks for a Serial#.

I've tried inputing every listed serial on the machine. It requests the number written in the Operations Manual. There's no number information there. (Have all the original Manuals).

Is there anything that can be done for Windows to recognize this scanner as TWAIN compliant?

    Thank you for your help.

There should be a thin pamphlet that came with the Sharpdesk CD that will have the serial number on it. Any sharpdesk serial number that you have should work as long as it is for ver 3.0 or later. There is also a Twain driver that you can download from Sharp if you haven't already tried that.

    Good luck.

The AR-EF3 does not mean that the machine can scan to a computer. You would need the AR-NS2 or the more recent MX-NSX1 to enable scanning. You purchase the key code and input it into the machine and into the sharpdesk software to get scanning enabled. There is a way to enable a "demo scan" mode in the machine will enable you to use the scan mode 500 times.
