use authority group settings
Since you are using account codes on the machine then the easiest and least complex way to do this is go into the web page.
user control
authority group list
choose the group that you do not want to be able to scan and print via the usb on the front panel. edit that group and under image send there is a setting called "usb memory" click the down arrow and select "prohibit" this will stop anyone's code that is under that group from being able to scan to a usb jump drive.
As for printing, under printing, on that same page there is a setting called "USB memory direct print" click the down arrow again and select "prohibit"
This should not let anyone in that group print or scan to a usb jump drive.
PS: if you do not have any authority groups set up you can set up and new one and then go into each account code and select the authority group under which to put them.
Hope this helps!!Leave a comment:

I think you will find what you need in system setting / printer setting / interfaces setting.
Check for something called ''enable usb port''Leave a comment:

Yes, I've never worried about printing, but I have had customers worried about usb scanning. Don't remember the exact steps, but you do it through the web interface.Leave a comment:

Is there a code on this machine where you can disable the ability to print via the USB slot which is infront of the machine.
We dont want to disable the USB completely just he ability to print or scan from it. We are using Department Codes to keep track of print jobs and copy jobs, but when a user prints via their USB stick it doesn't count those prints.
Thanks.
