    [Misc] Application code registration

    Ok here is my question.

When registering an application such as the PS3 expansion kit, the documentation that comes with it has boxes on it where you write down the serial number of the copier/fax and the product code you get once you register that option on sharps registration web page.

The serial number on my device is 10 digits but the documentation the expansion kit only has 8 boxes for the serial number.

When I register the product on the web page do I register the serial number using all 10 digits or just 8?

Reason is one of my guys says you use the first 8 digits and skip the last 2 while another one of my guys says skip the first 2 and just register using the last 8.

I say use them all but I don't want to screw this up.

    Who is correct?

If the serial begins with two zeros, drop those and use the rest. If you want to check, go into Sharpnet and put the serial in the product eligibility page. It will reject wrong serials.

Yea both of my guys said that, cause my serial number for this mx-m850 starts with two zeros and ends with two zeros.

One said its the last two zeros that get dropped other said first two lol.

It might be different in other locations (Europe, Asia, etc.), but in the SEC/SECL you drop the last two zeros.

Here in NA you drop the last two, called sharp this morning just to confirm before I registered them.

          Thanks to all who replied.
