Sharp / Toshiba e150 with "E7-11" Please help

    e150 "E7-11" help

I have this one e150 in the field that keeps intermittently coming up with "E7-11", turn off/on and goes away sometime for days, or sometime just for a few copies.

I have done general cleaning of optics and such, code keeps coming back.

Manual says something about CCD white level trouble, what does that mean actually ?
Also says "dirt on shading plate" for E7-11, what exactly should I clean ???

I have several of these machines in the field, never this problem, please help

Have you tried taking the screws off the top of the CCD unit and cleaning the mirrors inside? On the Sharp machines ive worked on they tend to get this film and it clouds the mirror. There is one little mirror hidden below the CCD lense. You can clean it with a q tip or remove the mirror from the back of the CCD.
Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

Clean the rail the the scanner carriage rides on and regrease it. The scanner hesitates when that dries out and causes that code. Your will see that the lube on the rail has turned black and dried out.

Change the scanner pwb with a modified one to resolve your issue.
