Hi,
I recently purchased a Sharp MX-550N off an auction. However, whenever I turn on the unit I get this error message:
"CODE: E7-03 Call For Service"
I looked up the error on the service manual and it is related to a Hard Drive Failure. However, when I try to put the number 62 in the panel to access the Hard Drive Section and try to do a format, it seems like the number 62 is blocked. I can access all other numbers except 62.
This got me thinking, the Copier has a sticker on it that says "Media Removed" because since it was bought off an auction they must delete all off the previous owners data and information. To this effect I think that they must have taken off the HDD from the Copier. If that's the case I need the answer to these questions:
1. Where is the HDD located so that I can verify it was taken out or if there is one already there? (Please be detailed on the location cause I', kinda of a newbie when it comes to this
)
2. Let's say there is no HDD, I would need to know what type of HDD does the copier require and what size in GB does it support. (If you can provide a reference to where you found that info, it would be plus).
3. If I purchase the new HDD, do I have to call in a technician to install it and perform the preliminary steps or is that a D-I-Y kinda thing?
Thanks Again,
